Ready For Real Life Academy

If you're reading this, there's a good chance adult life has handed you some situations where you thought: I wish someone had actually shown me how to do this.

Maybe it was filling out a job application and not knowing what to put. A phone call you kept putting off because you weren't sure what to say. A paycheck that disappeared before the month was over, and you couldn't quite figure out where it went. A moment where you needed to speak up for yourself and the words didn't come — or came out wrong, and you paid for it.

You're not alone in that. And it's not a reflection of what you're capable of. It's a reflection of the fact that most schools — including most special education programs — spent a lot of time on academic content and very little time on the practical things that determine whether adult life actually works: how to get and keep a job, how to talk to people in authority, how to manage money, how to find housing, how to stay safe, and how to build a life that reflects what you actually want.

Ready for Real Life exists to close that gap — directly, respectfully, and practically. Every section of this academy is organized around a real adult situation. Not a textbook scenario. Not a hypothetical designed for a classroom. The actual things that come up: the job interview where you don't know whether to mention your history. The landlord who isn't responding to your maintenance request. The email you need to write to your supervisor but can't quite get right. The benefit program you've heard about but don't understand. The person in your life who keeps pushing past your boundaries. We work through all of it — with clear language, concrete steps, and the understanding that you may need to practice something more than once before it clicks. That's not a problem. That's just how learning works.

I want to be clear about something: this academy treats you as a capable adult. You have strengths. You have rights. You have goals that matter. The fact that you received IEP services in school tells me you had a different kind of educational experience — it doesn't tell me anything about what you can achieve as an adult. I've built this academy on that belief, and it shapes everything from the way lessons are written to the way the community is run.

If you're ready to get practical, take things at your own pace, and build real skills for real life — I'm glad you're here. Let's get started.
